Sue sent me a photo of one of her Christmas sewing projects - a sleeping bag for a special dolly.
After an inspiring Zoom day with crafty people from all corners of the globe coming and going during the day, it occurred to me that this would work for us at St Stephen's and, of course. our twinned congregation at Narromine Uniting and other friends. If you love doing hand craft of any sort you can leave a comment to join us.

A finish for Betty M
Betty M received the parts of this pretty tea cosy as a donation a long time ago. She has now used her craft time at home to finish it. It looks great.

A finish for Betty J
A set of 8 placemats made from old shirt fabrics. They were all quite dull until the 'zinger' strips and borders were added.

Sue's lovely dolls and cushion
Sue showed us this Kitty doll last week. She finished it during our zoom session. She has photographed it here with another of her dolly creations and a lovely retro cushion she has made.

Week 2
I had to laugh when I went downstairs to get a cuppa and returned to find all the zoom screens were empty. Everyone had decided a cuppa would be a good idea so disappeared to make one.
The other thing I noticed this week was that all those on were happy with periods of friendly silence. We even had two people using their sewing machines at the same time (unmuted) and the noise was not too disruptive.
We are all very amazed at the amount we achieve in the time we are on. Time just flies and jobs get done.
A finish for this week was the Peaches and Cream Doily Quilt and its matching table runner (see photo above). And there was Betty's unicorn and a dinosaur.

Progress in Week 1
This week we met on zoom for our first official open day. We had seven visitors at times during the day.
Lynette discovered she could do hand sewing with her left hand all strapped up. She was able to quilt around her stars.
Sue cut fabric for some cushions then started on her hexagon project, and Kathryn cut lots of lovely pink squares ready for a quilt she wants to make.
